I have to admit, I love superhero movies, for various reasons, but mostly because they…
The Chemistry: Emily Blunt & John Krasinski
We wrote about Emily Blunt before, a creative powerhouse with a very simple yet highly effective chart. Her relationship with John Krasinski is often remarked as one of the most romantic and playful. When you watch them together, everybody can notice the great chemistry between them. The video below shows that perfectly, so we decided to look into that chemistry a bit more closely.

Beauty in simplicity
Emily Blunt has this simple transition, from Water to Wood and then to Fire, indicating her Output, creativity, and ability to convert that creative energy into wealth. It’s a simple chart, practically consisting of only three Elements, but working superbly, even as it is.

Heavy grounding
John Krasinski’s chart is quite the opposite of Emily’s, a sturdy Yang Metal with heavy Earth support. Emily’s chart is flowing, her element are practically galloping free, which can be seen in her temperament and the way she acts and behaves. But she needs some Earth grounding, first to channel that strong water, and second to offer soil to groundless Wood in her chart. Without Earth, she risks becoming restless; to her, a relationship provides peace and boundaries.
Krasinski’s chart is loaded with Earth, coming from the Earth Goat pillar and two Dog Branches. On top of that, his Goat combines with her Pig, creating a Wood structure, and his Dog combines with her Tiger, creating a Fire structure. Those are two strong anchors that keep two charts locked and beautifully utilized.
There is a Monkey vs. Tiger clash, but it is mostly neutralized by the Dog & Tiger combo, which lures the Tiger away from the Monkey.
So he is giving her warmth through Fire activation, while Earth provides boundaries and direction to her Water. In exchange, she is activating his massive Earth Element with her Wood and Water.
Taken together, this creates a powerful combustion engine that can utilize each element to its fullest capacity and creates joy, because both sides can feel they are actually gaining something and developing just by being together.
That is the essence of love, right there.
