How Strategy works
The Strategy Bridge links Power, with its rules, obligations and pressure to deliver, to Intellect (Resource), which studies, prepares and seeks understanding. It describes the ability to think within constraints without becoming trapped by them. Rather than reacting to every demand, a person may step back, learn how a system works and decide where an informed action will have the greatest effect.
When it works well
When both Components are strong and balanced, this Bridge can support planning, analysis, professional expertise and difficult decisions. The person may be effective where responsibilities are complex and mistakes matter: they can take a rule seriously, understand its purpose and still look for a better way forward. Strategy here is not merely having a plan. It is connecting knowledge to the authority—and the willingness—needed to act.
When out of balance
If Power dominates Intellect, urgency and rules may leave too little space to investigate or question assumptions. If Intellect dominates Power, the analysis may be sophisticated but never become a decision. When both are excessive, caution and obligation can turn into rigidity. When both are weak, this may not be the chart’s natural way of solving problems.
What to look for
The Bridge is most useful when preparation leads to timely action. The wider chart determines whether that action is better expressed through leadership, specialist work, service or another Talent Bridge.
