Zendaya: Born for visibility

Some birth charts are almost perfect, and they clearly explain why someone is so famous and successful.

One of those charts is from Zendaya, a young actress who already has a string of strong performances under her belt, from TV Shows to movies.

I wrote about Zendaya before, but to be honest, that was before I watched her role as Rue in the TV show Euphoria. She gets a lot of hate online, for probably no good reason at all, but that performance has to be acknowledged as extraordinary.

She is a Yin Metal Day Master, strongly supported by three branches, Ox, Monkey, and Rooster, so this is a very strong Yin Metal, able to absorb pressure and move with agility and force. Yin Metal people are usually gentle, but the presence of strong Metal makes them tougher, so she is able to exert a lot of power on the screen.

Monkey month brings Yang Metal, which represents her competitive nature, Competitor Talent. This is also known as Rob Wealth, which is often found in the Chart of people with an addictive nature, which is why she was able to portray Rue in Euphoria so well. She was relentless, forceful, and would lie to anyone to get what she wanted, which are clearly negative attributes of the Rob Wealth, which she was able to naturally “expose”.

Monkey + Rat combine into a Water structure, giving her a strong Output Component. People with strong Output are outspoken, witty, rebellious, and often very demanding, character traits we could easily notice in her Rue character, but also in other characters throughout her career.

Fire Element – The Great Regulator

Now, these three qualities, strong Yin Metal, unchecked Rob Wealth, and unchecked Output Component, would be a very problematic combination, but she has a critical Element that puts a lid on it, and gives her control over those powers, and that lid comes in the form of the Fire Element.

At the hour pillar, she has Yin Fire; in the month and year pillar, there are two Yang Fires. This is a powerful Fire frame that controls everything happening in the bottom part of the Chart, meaning she can utilize those “powers” productively.

Yang Fire is especially interesting here because it combines with Yin Metal, creating a sparkling sensation that is perfect for attracting media attention and fans. The top of her Chart is a perfect publicity engine, providing her massive visibility (Yang Fire is the sun; the sun provides visibility).

I always say there are no perfect charts; every Chart eventually hits certain bottlenecks, but Zendaya’s Chart is an example of a well-structured Chart with minimum drawbacks.

Of course, such power and utility will require her to be at the top of the game all the time, and strong visibility is not always the most pleasant thing to endure day to day. With a negative mindset, such charts can go the other way, so, in practice, the key lies in our mindset.

We could also say, in this case, that she is controlled by fame and industry expectations; Fire is the authority Element that regulates pretty much everything in her life, for better or worse.

Arrival of the Annoying Element

This Fire visibility is now challenged by what we call the “annoying Element”. Since 2024, she has been in a Yin Water Snake period. Yang Fire doesn’t particularly like Yin Water, because it represents clouds, something that hinders their ability to shine.

The result is that her fame (Fire) is challenged, and we can see that the general public (or some part of it) is highly critical of her recent roles, especially in the Dune movies. 

This mini-backlash is a result of this annoying Element, but I doubt it can produce long-lasting disturbance, because she is a strong personality, and even that Fire at the top has enough force to dismiss the negative influence of Yin Water.

In any case, this is a superb Chart, based on strong roots (Metal), high creative Output (Water), and an ideal regulator (Fire) that brings her fame and visibility.
